I moved to Nelson from Vancouver about five months ago and have had two haircuts with Bailey since. I’ve never left a salon review before, but I’m so thrilled with my hair both times that I had to share. It’s been a while since a haircut truly wowed me, and I’ve tried many salons at various price points over the years. These last two haircuts with Bailey are hands down my all-time favorites—they’ve got me excited about my hair again. I left the salon loving my hair and continue to love it every day.

The salon itself is adorable, and Bailey is incredibly sweet and extremely talented. I’m not the best at explaining what I want, but she was patient and guided me through options that would work best for me. I’ve faced some health challenges that have affected my hair and self-esteem, but Bailey was so non-judgmental that I felt comfortable sharing my struggles. She helped me find a practical solution to keep my hair longer, and I left feeling pretty instead of anxious like I did when I entered the salon.

As long as Bailey is working and I’m in Nelson, I’ll be her client. Highly, highly recommend!

I love this studio. I’ve had cuts with Bailey and Jasmine and have never been disappointed. Most recently, I had full highlights done, for the first time ever, with Jasmine. I was really nervous about it but love the results. She also took the extra time to teach me how to style it. I’m a towel dry person but am tempted to purchase a curling iron now. Go here for a cut. You can’t go wrong.

The best salon I’ve ever been to. They offer boutique salon quality in an approachable atmosphere at a great price point. All of the stylists are very skilled, our whole family goes here for cuts and we all leave happy. Highly recommend!!

Outstanding! Long ladies cut with Jasmine. Absolutely excellent.

Lovely bright 3 chair shop. My hair cut is simple, but I didn’t realize what a difference the right stylist makes to a long hair ‘trim’. The added value is all the information I get from Jasmine. She really listens to my hair goals, talks through maintenance, debunks influencer hair myths and lets me know what is worth it for long hair maintenance.

I don’t get my hair styled after drying so she uses that extra time before and during the cut to do a little extra.

I really appreciate Jasmine and UpWard Styles. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love Upward Styles. I've been going to Jasmine for my cuts & colour for a while now and she is amazing - I always get exactly what I'm looking for! Recently I went dark and am so happy with it! The atmosphere is lovely and the girls are all so kind and fun. Jasmine always takes the time to style my hair and make sure I'm happy with it, truly a phenomenal experience every time 🫶🏼 You will definitely not be disappointed!!

Upward Styles is amazing! Every stylist is talented and responsive to client feedback. I've been 4 times, had 3/4 of the stylists, and have always been happy. My most recent cut this past week was to cut half a foot off my bum length hair to start fresh in a new haircare journey. A daunting request for any stylist (half a foot of length!). Jocelyne took care of me and slayed a right blunt ended cut that left me feeling like a queen. Totally happy, will be back again and again! The salon also has excellent Canadian made products that actually work. The Bassau hydrating oil is amazing! The interior of the salon is super cute and clean, I love their new mirrors. 10/10 🥰

I just came from the best hair appointment I’ve ever had. Jocelyn was so amazing. She listened to what I had to say, she worked with me and gave me a beautiful color…two actually. Thank you doesn’t seem good enough for giving me back my dignity and helping me to find my smile again. I absolutely love Upward Styles. The atmosphere is amazing not to mention the girls in there. Jasmine is my go to as she has transformed my hair into an easy daily routine not to mention keep me in style, and teach me how to maintain/ take care of my hair to keep it in healthiest condition! I made a huge change and cut my hair short this time, did a touch up on my blonde, and Jasmine blew it out of the water! 100% recommend her or any other girls from the salon you won’t be disappointed !
