Such a great little stop!
I highly recommend the nachos. We did a half order for the two of us and not only were they the best nachos, but there were plenty for both of us and they are generous with the sour cream and salsa! Fun and funky atmosphere;)

Stopped here for a late lunch while we were working in Enderby on a rainy day. It was a lovely, warm and colourful respite to the storm outside.

The Small Axe is a small diner style restaurant that is jam-packed with personality! The eye-opening story behind their name is printed on their huge menus. We had the Sparta-choke Dip and the French Onion soup. Perfect for a stormy day. For drinks we had the Strawberry Lemonade and the Jessie Spano cocktail (Espresso Martini). For dessert we enjoyed their special cheesecake for the day and coffees.

Our server, Glen, was really inviting and knowledgeable about the menu! We appreciate the detail that has been put into curating all the décor, from the vintage video game machines to the neon signs on the wall. There are so many things to look at, you could be there all day! Definitely a great place to try if you're in Enderby!

A local gem! Eclectic but with all the great comfort foods you’d want!
We dove into the pulled pork on a beautiful fresh plate of greens while passing through town and loved it so much we came back two days later and ate the exact same meal!
Excellent service - 5 stars all the way!
Every wall is loaded with kitsch - this place is NOT to be missed!

Checked out this eclectic gem on the recommendation of a colleague, and we'll definitely be back! Tons of interesting menu options, a friendly and inviting vibe, the music was at the perfect volume to easily carry on a conversation, and prices were very fair. My partner enjoyed the taco salad and I couldn't have been happier with my roasted brussel sprout and beet salad.

We had absolutely no plan to stop in Enderby but I’m so happy we did!!!

Town centre is SO lovely! Every person I met and talked to was a gem, including our server here at Small Axe!! The food was very fresh and tasty! The interior was also SO cool!! Every little corner has something to look at! We ordered the burger+beer combo which was 20 bucks! Very good deal and delicious food!

I was super impressed with the fun decor for sure. It’s a funky place to hang out. Like a little art museum.

Most of the seating is super uncomfortable though and they are not accommodating to requests on where to sit which is frustrating. When you go out to enjoy a meal you want to be comfortable. If you have chronic pain you know existing is enough of a struggle.

The food was ok, worth going back for the atmosphere if you don’t have pain or mobility issues. But don’t try to make any requests for comfort because they would rather you leave than let you sit in one of two open booths, when there are multiple other open tables.

Really weird vibes from the staff. Even going to the bathroom a different staff acted like I was doing something wrong.

Unfortunate experience and hopefully just a one off, please learn from this. It’s weird to argue with someone about where to sit. First come first serve? I get you want to be able to accommodate bigger parties but wasn’t a huge table we wanted and it was 2pm anyway. Not exactly peak hours.

Burgers are life changing. Local beers on tap, service was great and the decor is eclectic- it’s awesome. Definitely worth a stop!
