What a fun afternoon!! We did the medium size, and with a fantastic helper, it ended up really well!! We couldn’t be happier, as it was worth every penny (after tip it was ~$200). We finished in about 4 hours, although it felt much shorter! Worth spending a Saturday afternoon doing!

Made this black ball, yes it’s little but very fun through out the process of making it. You can also paint toy bears with the style of your own. Very fun stuff, never tried or never seen this kinda things here before. It’s a go to place.

Tufting can be fun but this was a mess. They put you in a tiny room with no AC. You are constantly bumping into the other people booked for tufting. There's no room to work on a tufting with a partner. The equipment fails and messes up your design. The yarn is not properly spooled so it will periodically get yanked out of your tufting gun. The communication beforehand is unprofessional and didn't make the design process clear at all. I felt like I had to lead the conversation and ask about important details and then they still messed up stenciling my design. There are exposed sharp staples or tacks at the bottom of your canvas. And when you finish they ask you to fill in every tiny little gap instead of actually doing that as part of their finishing process. This seemed like a cute date idea but it just led to frustration and anxiety.

Service was super friendly and helpful. Our instructor provided great input for what we could realistically do within our allotted time, and we still went over, so I'd recommend keeping your rug design simple.

They have projectors to project your image onto the canvas, so that you can trace it with a sharpie. I'd recommend that you bring a few ideas, and then the instructor can advise you which are feasible. If not, you will waste a bit of time at the beginning trying to decide on a design. (Note: You can airdrop the photo to the instructor.)

We went on a Monday afternoon and there was only one other couple there, which allowed for a quieter session as the studio is already a bit small. Our instructor said that weekends are very busy, with up to 8(?) tufting frames set up, so definitely try to go on a weekday.

It's a bit expensive, but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

There was a solid variety of yarn colors, but perhaps not enough back-up yarn balls, in case you finish one ball and need more.

Super fun experience tufting! The studio is around a 10 minute walk from metrotown. The staff member was very knowledgeable and attentive. It is on the pricey side, however the price is still cheaper than the other place in town that offers tufting.

Overall I would definitely go back 🙂
