Our amazing experience with Ali —
(1) The Intro & Prep — My sister and I called Ali at 430pm on a Friday night in late Aug 2022, asking if she could squeeze us in for a photo shoot of our sons for the following Monday. We were rushing to get some nice shots of our sons as a surprise birthday gift for our Mom’s upcoming 75th birthday in Sep. Ali not only obliged us on arranging a photo shoot for us on the Monday, she still managed to take her time to “get to know” our family by spending 1 hour on the phone with me on the Friday evening to ask questions about the boys, their backgrounds, their personalities; about our desired objectives of the photo shoot. A true professional!!
(2) The Shoot — we met Ali at the beach location and let her work her magic — she spent time chatting with each of the four boys, so that she could coax out their unique personalities which she could then capture in her shots. Ali has a very engaging personality and put all of us at ease immediately.
(3) The Product — When my sis and I went to her home studio to review / choose the photos, Ali gave excellent advice on how best to choose (“go with your first instinct!!”) as well as tips on photo printing / framing to meet our rather rushed needs. The resulting photos are AMAZING and capture the youth, energy, excitement and joie de vivre of our boys.
(4) Our Recommendation — my sis and I are extremely pleased with our partnership with Ali on this particular photo shoot. We have a number of high school and university graduations coming up, as well as milestone birthdays for us older lot of parents / grandparents … we will definitely be engaging Ali again on future commemorative photo shoots. We are definitely part of the “Ali Fan Club” now!

I rarely have seen pictures of myself that I have absolutely LOVED and Alice was able to change that with our boudoir photoshoot!
Very professional, she was amazingly well prepared for our photography session and she helped me to be mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared as well. She made sure I was 100% comfortable and I felt completely at ease. Very creative, generous with her time, and passionate about her art, Alice is patient, flexible, open to ideas, and has an incredible eye for details. After seeing Ali’s photographic exhibition in Parksville Arts Centre, I was determined to book a family portrait as an heirloom. Too many people plan this, but it is so easy to postpone. On the rare occasion I was able to get my daughters together, I pounced on the opportunity. The care and time Ali took to talk to us, suggest clothing, and location was phenomenal! Having said that, the end result of the photo shoot far exceeded preconditioned scenes of a mother and daughters portrait. Gone are the studied, stiff photos of yesterday. I would highly recommend reaching out to Ali to book a photo session. I am so glad I did to get new headshots as I started a new job. My last ones were done more than 10 years ago. I normally hate getting my photo taken but I enjoyed the whole experience from meeting with Ali before to get advice on what to wear and how to prepare, to actually having fun and being put at ease at the photo shoot and the photos were beyond my expectations. I have had so many compliements on how good I look in those photos!
