Karen’s 3-day art intensive was delightfully immersive, full of expansive experiences and deeply healing.

Karen’s welcoming personality and wide-ranging experience made for three consecutive days of learning, laughter and leaning into my edges.

I found Karen online after art classes elsewhere had been cancelled. Her vibrant abstract art spoke to me, yet it wasn’t until we met in person, that I experienced her passionate commitment.

I value the care Karen put into creating a fully immersive art experience and I’m extremely grateful that as the sole registrant, classes were still offered.

Karen provided all the supplies I required, including an apron and notebook, both of which were equally important as the accompanying paints, brushes and other necessities.

While unfamiliar with concept art until meeting Karen, I soon appreciated it as an approach that deeply resonates with me. Karen shared two techniques she employs, each taking me on a co-creative and transformative journey.

As Karen works out of the Cotton Factory’s Dyeworks Studio, I enjoyed being immersed in a rich, creative culture of art and welcomed the opportunity to meet several artists and enjoy a variety of art forms.

Thank you Karen for three days of creative wonder. The synchronicities were plentiful and I look forward to continuing my artistic journey with you in the future!

We had an excellent valentines date at Karen’s studio. Everything was set up beautifully. With Karen’s guidance we were able to create something special. Would highly recommend one of her sessions for a couple or group looking to do something fun/creative and different!

A very fun and creative evening! My cousin and I treated our mum's to a girls night out. Karen was a great host and walked us through Abstract styles and techniques - encouraging us to find our own unique methods. It was challenging compared to the typical art night where you all paint the same thing, but we enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about sketching, mixing colours, finding inspiration and cultivating creativity. I would highly recommend doing a class with Karen!

A great workshop! We had such a fun time painting, and the structure of the activity made it meaningful and enjoyable. I'd recommend this for team-building activities or bachelorette parties. Everyone in our group seemed to really enjoy themselves, and the facilitator came across as seasoned and easy-going.

I am generally not one for writing reviews, but have chosen to write one (very late I might add) since I think it would be helpful for those who might look to try the painting experience offered by Studio K2. Full disclaimer - although I consider myself a creative person I would not say I am artistic person. My husband would say he is neither creative or artistic, but Karen (studio) owner was convinced that we would be able to conceptualize and paint a piece of art TOGETHER that represented a theme we agreed upon reflecting our relationship. I decided to make it a surprise date night since I didn't know if my husband would go for it. He was definitely surprised and I was even more surprised that we left with a beautiful and FULLY FINISHED piece of art that means something special to us (now hanging in my office). The 2 hours went by really quickly (in a good way) and I think it comes down to how it was broken down. Karen explained the process (not limited to just painting) and set up the studio so we each had some space to practice drawing before we put paint to canvas. A blank canvas is a bit daunting so it was great to do some test runs on paper, plus she gave lots of instruction on how to start, different techniques and how to mix colours. I think what sets this apart from other paint nights is that you leave with something completely unique and get to learn some cool artsy stuff in the process. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone - experienced or not. There's enough instruction (without being intrusive) to get you there regardless of level of experience. Also, lots of cool art from Karen and other artists in the space. My husband actually ended up getting my Christmas gift from there at a later date.

I had the extreme good fortune of attending the "Figure it out - concept to
painting fun" art experience at Karen's lovely Hamilton studio.

As a dabbler of the arts, I've always wanted to spend a little more time and energy exploring my painterly side. Actually more like wanting to see if I had a painterly side!

It turns that anyone - even me - can have fun and develop their talent with the right guidance. And that's where Karen comes in.

Karen is passionate, knowledgeable, a great communicator and best of all supportive and fun.All the materials were laid out in front of me as Karen walked me through and helped me contemplate and create my process.

I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique art experience. I would have gladly paid more for this. It provided value galore. I'm looking forward to my next session.

In fact, I plan on organizing a work group for a fun and unique team-building experience in the months to come. I'm planning a date night too. At this rate, I may have to rent out a small space in the studio to store my painting supplies! LOL.
