- Resource Workers:
Really helpful, until they're not that helpful.
Was recieving a lot of help from this place in regards to resources until I stopped having my calls or messages answered or returned. Finally a resource worker met with me; I asked for a resource suggestion - no suggestions, no assistance, I asked if the resource people could suggest a mechanic shop, ask around for me, or make a posting to which I did not recieve an answer so the resource people are not resourceful if they can't just send you off with some funding.
Added: Still having to chase staff around for answers on questions asked daysss ago - no call back. I have to nag to get my questions answered.
Have been told by others in the community that this is a common occurance: that the resource workers will do a ton to help at first, then months later, if you ask for anything at all, will most likely brush you off. Basically, take advantage of the help they give you at first, because later you won't even be able to get a returned phone call most of the time. I am not the only one experiencing and complaining of this.
- Mental Health Workers:
Issues with counsellors there, doing their job. It's a problem if you have too many mental health issues and don't fake being okay, they get overwhelmed and let you go as a client. Mainly just print you out paperwork, pretty much useless, just go to CMHA instead.
Added: Had a much better worker after whom has now unfortunatley left the centre.
- Receptionists:
Receptionists there are rude.
One middle age lady, brown hair always tied back, speaks over you before you are done, interrupts and cuts you off, both on the phone and in person. Just transfers calls off, when I told her I am not getting answers or calls back ever, she continued to get pissy with me like that's my issue. You actually get paid, all shift, to deal with these issues and to do your job, no one is paying me to nag you to do your job (call me back).
Added: another issue with the same lady. Booked apt to go in food pantry. Some lady at another location (despite calling the MARKDALE location) told me to go on in and if anyone had an issue with it, to say ____ said to go ahead. I went in and checked at reception where I told her what I was told. She then caused issues for me, stating I needed to book an apt.... which I had called to do already. Don't get sassy with me because your staff can't keep up on what's going on and your phone numbers send me to a different location- that's your issue, not mine; I did what I'm supposed to, thank you, I don't need the unneccessary attitude.
Young brunette receptionist is absolutley phenomenal and always kind, white hair lady is pretty good as well, sorry, I don't know names.
Do your jobs? Resource people are not resourceful, mental health people drop you when there are too many mental health issues you are facing and receptionists can't wait to ship you off to someone else, then get pissy when you call back due to no answer or return call.
- Others:
Not sure Della's position, but she is phenomenal. Cathy is very nice and welcoming. The ladies in the CMHA are beautiful souls, Kelly and Cookie. The workers of the pantry are sweethearts, including two new woman, Cindy and Maham that they have added to the team. There is also have a male worker that helps out with various things around the centre whom is very pleasant to deal with, also.
No complaints about the Drs so far.
Other staff and volunteers are absolutley wonderful, kind and welcoming!
Place is clean and well kept.
Added: Absolutley stupid that I call the MARKDALE community health centre and am talking to people not even in Markdale, whom are rude and unpleasant to deal with. When I call the MARKDALE community health centre number, I expect to be speaking with people from the MARKDALE community health centre. Please add an extension to allow us to choose which centre we are trying to reach to avoid your staff getting unnecessarily rude and to avoid this confusion. Thanks.
