Joining the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my photography career! The accreditation and designation system gives me clear goals to strive for and a real sense of accomplishment as I hit each milestone. Plus, the educational and competitive opportunities keep me on my toes and push me to be better every day.

What I love most is the camaraderie. The members are so welcoming and inclusive—it’s like being part of a big, creative family. If you’re serious about photography and want to be part of an awesome community, PPOC is where it’s at!!

Becoming a member of PPOC has been invaluable to my career advancement as a professional photographer. When I first joined, I had such crippling imposter syndrome, I was afraid to even attend the events! Eventually, I pushed myself to go and immediately made new friends, and saw what a welcoming group Canadian Photographers are. Since then, I have been pushed and inspired to new heights and achievements every year, and this year I’m even speaking at the Canadian Imaging Conference! If you had told me that 9 years ago, when I first joined, I would have laughed hard.
