Beautiful marina in a quiet bay. Super-friendly, helpful staff. Many services (grocery store, restaurant/café, laundry, etc.) are within walking distance in less than 15 minutes. The City is working hard to bring back this place to life!

Disappointing Experience - Poor Facilities-Have they given up?

I had high hopes for this marina, but unfortunately, it left much to be desired. The lack of basic amenities is shocking, and it’s clear that while this place might have had potential, it seems like the enthusiasm or funding dried up quickly.

First off, the bathrooms and showers were filthy. It's incredibly frustrating to dock after a long day on the water and find that there’s no clean place to freshen up. To make matters worse, there’s no hot water, so you're stuck with freezing cold showers—not exactly what you'd expect from a marina.

There’s also no security, shore power or water on the docks, making it nearly impossible to maintain any level of safety comfort or convenience while staying here. Basic marina services, like these, are non-negotiable, and it’s disappointing to see them entirely absent. Anyone can access the dock and the boats here with impunity.

Overall, this marina feels like a place that started off with good intentions but quickly ran out of steam and investment. It’s a shame because it has so much potential, but as it stands, it’s just not worth the visit. Reviews for the past few years indicate that the issue are pervasive and unresolved.

The marina looks great from the water. Once docked and walking around, not so much. The garbage cans were so full that I couldn't even put a soda can in it. The garbage around the perimeter seating areas was an eye sore. The staff were friendly enough, yet quite content to sit in their lawn chairs when the work was done. We loved Picton. The marina...It's OKish.

Aug 2025: I thought this facility would get better when the city took it over, but it still lacking what is needed. No hydro, no handicap car and trailer parking, no handicap slips. This facility is still a sub standard 3rd rate boat dock.
Does the Town of Picton have issue with accommodating PEOPLE with handicaps throughout the whole town
