I started taking DJ classes in August at Musicboxx and it has been absolutely fantastic.
Jim is one of the owner's and is very well organized, effective and overall a great teacher. His costs are beyond fair, his availability is great, classes are not rushed, so the value is high.
Having Jim as a trainer/tutor/teacher and being in the industry for that many years he brings a lot to the table in terms of thoroughly understanding the best way to format a beginner's class and build up. From handouts to hands-on, Jim has an exceptional ability to explain the technicalities required for a strong foundation to independently mix and create. Classes are very hands-on with a lot of demonstrating and student practice. He is by far one of the best teachers I have had in terms of learning a new skill and I highly recommend Musicboxx for lessons. However that is not all they do, so check it out if you are interested in learning more.

Absolute amazing experience today, Jim was great at fitting an aspiring 7 yr old rapper on his birthday for a recording session this week. Dave, the musical engineer handled him superbly and my gf, the mother was happy to see her boy smiling ear to ear non-stop.

Completely professional. Jim was amazing and responsive from the beginning, explaining the entire process and what to expect. The prices are extremely reasonable for an amazing experience. The kids loved it, and the idea of capturing their young voices and hearing it later in their life, is so precious. Dave was extremely patient with the "singers" as well and did a great job of recording everything properly, making it sound amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to experience the recording of a professional track. It was so much fun and I definitely will be a repeat customer!
