Moon Records is a music lover’s paradise! They have an awesome selection across all genres, plus they carry cassette tapes, which is a rare find these days. The best part? They tracked down a copy of Beastie Boys' Ill Communication on cassette for me—absolute legends! If you're into vinyl, tapes, or just great music, this is the place to go. 🎶🔥📼

Jfc what a store! If you got bands that jam on your mind, you gotta blast off to Moon's. On arrival there was tons of Dead and Phish in and out of the discount bin and lots of other killer psychedelic records.. jazz, blues, some punk too. Plus! other cool shit : books, memorabilia, and the super cool Moon's swag. Great prices. LOVED this store. Will definitely be back next time, visiting from Edmonton.

After an awkward encounter at Bop City Records in Courtenay, I found myself taking a detour to Moon's Records in Cumberland—and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

From the moment I stepped inside, Moon's had that unmistakable vinyl-lover’s vibe: a well-curated selection, a mix of classics and hidden gems, and a space that felt welcoming rather than transactional. Unlike my previous stop, where a simple pricing question derailed the whole experience, Moon's Records was a reminder of why independent record shops hold such a special place in music culture.

I left with a fantastic copy of Wish You Were Here and, more importantly, with the feeling that my purchase actually mattered. It wasn’t just about the records—it was about the experience, the atmosphere, and the ease of chatting with staff who genuinely seemed happy to be there.

Great vibes, great selection. Records are on the median to a bit more pricey end of their price scales, but in good quality. Also sells books, stickers, and clothes. Great shop!

Love this place. So stoked to have a record store in our little village. Staff usually happy to help and owner often offers great advice. I visit on the regular and suggest coming without any agenda and some time to just browse and soak it up.
Owner - Please bring back the testing tables though! ☺️

I frequently order from them, despite living on the opposite of North America, in Pittsburgh. Selection is fantastic, and Chris has gone the extra distance to find a few LPs I’ve been looking for, grade them fairly, and listen for skips before shipping out. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend skipping this on your travel list, owner / staff was extremely rude to the point where I actually felt so uncomfortable I left! Extremely unprofessional way to run a business. Unfortunate part is I had about 500$ worth of stuff I was going to buy for family…too bad the people who run it don’t care about their customers. Avoid at all cost.

I have been to Moons Records a number of times now. Selection of new records is pretty good, selection of used is phenomenal. Used record grading seems honest and accurate, everything I have bought here has sounded great. It's always hard to call pricing of records good these days, as they are all so expensive now, but their pricing is fair to the current market. Staff have always been nothing but pleasant to shop with, there is always a record playing in the store when I have gone in which is a must to me for the atmosphere of a good record store, don't try sell me expensive records with Spotify playing in the background! They also have some non record stuff, nice looking merch, skateboards, books, and other items. I also hear they do live music events which I have yet to attend but look forward to in the future! Oh and they are open 7 days a week, NOTHING in Cumberland is open 7 days a week!! Overall 5 stars, I would, and have, recommended this store to friends!
