Moving into Monroe was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was the natural next step in my career to move into ‘solo-preneurship’, and I am grateful this building provided me the opportunity to do so. Why choose Monroe over any other rental space? Easy! The pre-built-out rooms make it seamless to just customize and then get started, providing a quick transition for you and your clientele, not to mention keeping startup costs low. The amenities also make it a fabulous choice, free and ample parking, in-building laundry, and gorgeous clean facilities. While it can be intimidating to branch out on your own, the rewards absolutely outweigh the risks. My happiness and health since choosing to start my studio has skyrocketed. People clamour to support small and local businesses. The building only continues to get fuller, and the community is so fantastic. Everyone supports and encourages each other. I was concerned when going out on my own that I might feel lonely without co-workers, and that has not been the case. All the building neighbors are like co-workers but better, because everyone is striving to be a part of the community and culture; as they say, high tides raise all ships. My following-clientele raves about the new space, they love the focused and intimate factor of the studio environment. I’m not sure I could ever go back to the traditional salon model. I’ve also received wonderful new clientele since opening my doors, from referrals by other members, the Monroe website directory, or simply from being placed in an excellent location: the bustling and growing area of South Lethbridge. It is so rewarding to curate and develop a space that is YOURS, top to bottom. If the dream of entrepreneurship is in your heart, take the jump, you were born to fly.

From the moment I walked into the building I just knew I had to work there. It was the best decision. I went from being a manager for a well known salon to a solo stylist! It was scary, especially during this pandemic, but I would do it 10 times over again. I thought I was going to be lonely- I'm not at all. I am surrounded by like minded people who inspire me every single day. There are some truly incredible people and talent I have met since opening in May 2021.

My clients all seem quite happy with the move! They love the building! Being able to order Cafe Noir or getting charcuterie boards/snack boxes has also made for a lot of happy guests lol!
I have had clients tell me how much safer they feel. You have to think, in solo studios it's a one on one service. You don't have a bunch of other people around during your appointment. That's very appealing with how our world is these days. We have free parking and cameras all around for our safety as well. Our guests also get free wifi.

When you open your own studio in Monroe your world takes a shift. You make your schedule, you pick your vibe, your people, your energy. You decorate and function the way you want. You're your own boss. You just have to believe enough in yourself to do it.

I pay my rent and everything is put together for me. My stress levels are down. I see my family more. What more could I ask for?

Monroe Salon Studios. Where to start!? I have been a member of Monroe Salon Studios since before the walls were even up and have loved the process every step of the way! Tanya Kellington has put in an incredible amount of work and detail to make this building amazing for all the members that run their businesses out of Monroe, as well as for the clients visiting those businesses. It has provided opportunities and opened doors for sole proprietors to open their own small businesses in a community atmosphere that helps support each other’s growth through cross promotion for each other. It is the perfect “next step” for people that feel like they have hit their ceiling for working for somebody else or for small companies that are growing and need a storefront location! Highly, highly recommend!
