Hopeless lousy management! Disgusting and pathetic & ridiculous! Snow ❄️ everywhere! No pathways or steps to enter the building cleared whatsoever! As a visitor to the place, you’d be surprised at their lackadaisical attitude towards keeping the place safe for their tenants. Stay away. Period.

I have been renting an apartment from Maison Canada for the past year, and my overall experience has been very positive. The individual rooms are quite spacious, and having your own bathroom is definitely a plus! While the common area space within the apartment is not as impressive and is quite small, the larger-sized rooms make up for it as my roommates and I spend most of our time there anyway.

I have also had positive experiences with the staff. Every time I've had a maintenance issue, Nick, the superintendent, has been in within 24 hours to fix it. Darlene is very nice as well! She always responds to emails and texts in a timely manner and is often available in her office during the day.

What I've learned from renting from Maison Canada is that they will give you the same amount of respect that you give them. Pay your rent on time and be respectful of the fact that you are living in an apartment building with many other people and you also shouldn't have any issues! I would recommend Maison Canada to any student looking for a place to live.

Maison has great sized rooms compared to others in the Waterloo area for students and is super close to Laurier however, I wish I had read the reviews before signing the lease a few years ago. My lease just ended in August 2024 and I lived there for 3 years.

I had little issues for the 3 years until it came time to leave. I was charged a ridiculous amount for painting, and scratches on the wall that existed before I moved in. On top of this they told me nothing was wrong after doing my final inspection when I moved out and than I was send a crazy bill. They claim that they hire cleaners to clean your unit but don’t tell you that you are the one paying. Also my unit was a MESS when I moved in originally and walls were full of patches that were never fixed so it was crazy that we were held responsible for this.

The only reason people are leaving positive reviews is because they send an email that offered us a gift card for doing so. I’ve spoken to other tenants who left at similar times and they complained about the same issues.
I do love the superintendent Nick - he does a fantastic job and is always available to help with anything!

When I signed the price was great and reasonable based on the condition of the building but after hearing what they charge now it’s definitely not worth your money compared to more updated places.

My BIGGEST TIP for anyone thinking of living here TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING in your unit so when you leave you have proof of what was actually damaged and what was not so you don’t face similar issues.

The apartment is great! Rooms are extremely spacious and the ensuite is a plus. Everyone is so positive and always stop to say hello. The service is great and quick regarding maintenance work. Location is great, looks right out to campus. Overall love it here, 10/10!

I have been staying here from 2022. The management especially Darlene has been the kindest support I could get anytime. The apartments and the common areas are always clean and maintained. I'm sad to be leaving. The best part is you're closer to everything in uptown.

This apartment is great! It is right across Laurier campus. The staff is great! The building manager also stops to smile and chat when she sees you. The superintendent is quick to reply to texts. Overall, the staff and location are 10/10
