Si vous arrivez à l'heure pile (toutes les heures pendant 15min), vous pourrez assister à la bascule du pont, pour laisser passer les bateaux à voile principalement. On voit mieux en arrivant sur l'île quand repartant. Une expérience à voir au moins une fois

The bridge is one lane of traffic at a time. The wait is not long. It was neat to watch it open for the boats. They said it opens on the hour for 15 minutes to allow the boats to pass.

Cool, if you like such things. Bridge swings from top of the hour for 10-15 mins. Check last opening time.
View from inside the information center through the windows. Several chairs available for them what's need it. Path down to dock for outside viewing. Trees on top obscure view. We are here at 11:48 am.
Bridge used to swings hourly disirregardless. They now do it on demand at the top of the hour. If there are cars and no boats from the hour until 5 after, delay until the next hour.

It moves at every hour from dusk - dawn and takes about 10-15 mins from start to end. I used to drive the truck in this area but never saw the bridge in action. But had a car trip last week and saw it in action. Seriously it's so cool to see it at first it's slow but as soon as it makes the space from it's ends it moves so fast. Marvelous engineering.

Very cool bridge and the only way onto the Island coming from the North. Thought I would snap a couple pictures of it while I was here. You have to wait sometimes to drive across but it's definitely very neat.
