I have never been so disappointed by this clinic as I have today. I have been a patient of Dr. Chen’s for 10 years. I never complain about having to wait and it is common to wait to even get in the examination room. I was stuck in traffic rushing to my appointment and unfortunately for me, I was 5 minutes late. I politely waited for 2 minutes for the new receptionist to look up and acknowledge me and she then informed me I was 7 minutes late and she would have to request if I could still be seen. I was refused the appointment after waiting 3 weeks to get in. I was told I would have to pay $100.00 and rebook. This is robbery. People take unpaid time off to go see their doctor. They wait patiently for their doctor to get to them in their queue. You expect people to lose money from leaving work to see you and pay $100 if they are 5 minutes late?! With how expensive it is to live right now, people cannot afford any extra costs. Minimum wage is $15.00. You expect people to work 6.6 hours… let’s make that 8 after taxes are taken, to pay the fee? Give your head a shake and train your staff to do better. The reviews I’ve read don’t surprise me. I thought my doctor was better than this.

My Family Doctor Dr. Khan has been my Doctor for just over a year . She has been awesome! . I feel very comfortable visiting and speaking with her, she has a very caring attitude and is very thorough in her diagnoses……certainly up to any challenge I have had and answers my questions directly and honestly. I have complete confidence in her……. One of the Best Dr. I have had over the years!
As for the reception desk I find them to be very pleasant to deal with. Leaving a phone message I find their response has been very quick. I find I Treat them with respect and i receive their respect returned! 😁

Very poor management. They book and cancel appointments on their own and charge patients. Their employees call and blame patients for missed appointment and don’t listen for any faults of their own.

Never had such an experience in my 15 years of dealing with Canadian clinics. Doctors are cooperative but the staff is not. I can survive without a family doctor but can’t deal with arrogant people. Definitely moving away from them. More of a money grab then a clinic.

I have seen both Dr. virk as my family doctor and Dr. vermaak for walk in. I honestly really respect both of them. They are honest, sincere and thorough in their approach. I haven’t ever felt like my concerns were not listened to. The front desk staff are always very pleasant to deal with, Kinjal is the sweetest and knows how to maneuver scheduling so well for how busy and booked the clinic can get. I just wish it wasn’t a crazy wait to book an appointment but recognize this is a systemic issue with our current healthcare. Thank you to the entire Lakemed team!

I’ve been a patient at Lake Med for several years, and my experience has consistently been positive. Dr. Z Khan, my primary physician, is not only intelligent but also exceptionally caring. Very thorough in her diagnosis. She goes above and beyond to provide the help I need, demonstrating genuine care, always accompanied by a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye. A true gem.

During a recent walk-in emergency, I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Vermaak. He was phenomenal, taking the time to actively listen, understand my situation, and recommend appropriate treatment. Despite a crowded waiting room, he treated me with the utmost respect and care, giving me his undivided attention. His relaxed and kind disposition made it easy for me to confide in him and trust his judgment. His non-judgmental approach was truly refreshing.

Lake Med boasts a team of caring doctors, and Dr. Vermaak and Dr. Khan are undoubtedly my favorites. Dr. Khan has it all—brains and beauty!

The entire staff at Lake Med is not only lovely but also incredibly helpful. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else for my medical care. Thank you for the exceptional care and service you provide. Your dedication is truly appreciated.

5 stars to our family Dr.kahn. Truly blessed and thankful to have a Dr. who goes above and beyond the needs and care of her patients.
My young son and I are incredibly grateful for all the extra time and care that has gone into any medical needs, dietary needs, resources and supports.

Got told our doctor is leaving the practice so we need to find a new one and these scam artists want to charge us $50 each to transfer charts. They are forcing me to move so why should I pay. Tried to contact them and they don't respond!
Thankfully we have found a good doctor and a practice where the receptionist ANSWERS THE PHONE!!!!!!
Not surprised the rating for this shed are going down the tubes!

My family doctor is Dr. Chen. she is amazing! she is so caring and truly knows what is best for her patients. The front desk staff however, i find extremely rude. I understand they have very busy days but it seems as though they get mad when you tell them you have to call to book your next appointment. One time i had to cancel an appointment as something came up and the last on the phone said “are you serious?”. just found it very inappropriate as i felt like a burden and i believe i should feel welcomed at my doctor.
