the worst health plan
My son is disabled , 3 months waiting for the insurance to pay for son hearing aid , calling several times waiting for almost 2 hours to speak with a representative.

last time I called they told me everything was taking care of that the clinic should receive the payment before October , is October 8 and nothing just told me they don’t any records or anything of my conversation really? I can’t wait to switch insurance and report this , I would call the state department if I have too ?

Huge shout out to LA CARE! I am a case manager at a small clinic. I helped out with transportation through your health plan and it’s been amazing! All my patients are following up with their specialities and getting the medical care they need. Member preventatives are always willing to help. Keep up the great work!

From my experience I rate them a 5 if I can give them a 10 i would.
Reason are as follows : The care and medical places that my children were sent have been always the best.
When my children needed medicine they always understood my financial situation and they would go out of their way to provide me an inhaler for my son Aaron at school at home and for the other parent even thought its only 1 a month. With That said i dont forget and i havent had time too say thank you but I have time now so from the bottom of my heart thank you LA CARE.
Also i had surgery being a military Veteran i have service connected injuries and i felt happy that i continued my care with the Medical. They covered my surgery arthroscopic surgery I am no longer with LA CARE but thank you for approving what i needed for my medical needs.

I am ready to switch off of this insurance. They sent me to 4 different pharmacies when trying to fill my medication and delayed my medication for 2 months, which set me back years of progress. They refused doctor's appointments even though I choose this plan specifically because my doctor was in the network. Anything that is authorized is not paid by the company and I get billed for it anyways. And now, I'm giving the same run around regarding my medication. Claim they "don't have a pre-authorization" saying "it's not the right pharmacy". Always "we'll get back to you" and no one ever calls me back. I have to talk to a supervisor to get any sort of help and it still took two weeks to get my meds and now 6 months later, I'm back to where I was calling them everyday to get my medication reauthorized and preauthorized doctor visits - still unpaid. Cannot wait to switch off this insurance. I have never had this insurance before.

I've been calling since February. It takes an average of 5 hours to get a hold of someone. No one knows what they're doing. Every customer representative gives me different information each time. No on ever calls back. I was told someone would review my proof of income and my case was denied because the person checking can't even do basic math even though I keep breaking down the information for them in documents. L.A Care as a business is lazy, incompetent, ignorant, uncaring, uninformed and ghetto.

I’ve been waiting for my check for a canceled plan for months. It was charged in Dec last year and took 3 tries and it’s now June so it’s been at least half a year. Ridiculous that a check gets processed 30 days but 2nd time I called, it’s another 30 days? Don’t go to them unless you never want to see your money. If they’re this disorganized, imagine if you have a heath care emergency.

Is this seriously a Health Care provider? The most inefficient, unorganized, inept, obviously working remotely, don’t care bunch of “member relations” staff you would ever want to speak with. Talked to Iris in 'Member Relations" at approximately 4pm today after being authorized for continuity of care and given permission to enroll from another medical insurance carrier. Iris (on a recorded line) patronizingly gave me misinformation, told me that the California Healthcare Office of the Ombudsmen in Sacramento is wrong about everything, then after 10 minutes changed her tune because she realized she was wrong. Earlier today I spoke with four other LA Care staff members after 30 minute wait times each. None of them could do simply what they are supposed to do. One staff member, Marcella, was literally out in a windy place doing something else, then with kids crying in the background, put me on a ten minute hold, then did not fully verify me because she obviously wasn’t looking at her computer screen. This is what California taxpayers get for their hard work, a organization that you have to call over and over again because no one knows what they are doing and will not escalate you to a supervisor or lead. These remote workers need to be monitored so they do their job and don’t waste Californians time
