I've been dealing with IPLA for decades and they used to be very prompt, thorough and professional. However, over the last several years all of that has gone downhill and it's very frustrating and disappointing. They take weeks if not months to process simples requests. When you call for an update, after sitting on hold for far too long, you get told they just haven't gotten to your request yet (even though they told me 7-10 business days and it's now been a month), then, one day you call for a 5th or 6th time and they say "oh this should have been processed... I sent a message to the agent who should have taken care of this. Now wait longer and we'll still get to it when we get to it." I believe if you don't call them 20 times and keep on them, they would never process requests and they'd just get lost in the abyss that I envision the inside of their office to be. Not sure what they do there all day but they need to get their stuff together. Whatever they're doing to run the place now clearly isn't working.

I started my application for Massage Therapy last year but I required more education hours to meet the state requirements. When I first began this process, my experience with this agency was awful and frustrating. The correct phone number was not listed on the website, it was impossible to get anyone on the phone even with the correct number, and after waiting up to 20 minutes for someone to answer and choosing the "call back" option, no one called back. The one time someone did answer, they were very unprofessional and sounded inconvenienced. When I emailed, only some of my concerns would be addressed with no spirit of being helpful or caring. I was a little outraged to discover this service is funded by tax dollars. That being said, from the time I started this process to now, there seems to have been a total transformation. The correct numbers and informstion are all listed on the website, I get very helpful and friendly customer service every time I call, they do their best to answer all my questions, and someone was even kind enough to reach out via email immediately after I submitted an invalid document so that I was able to quickly get a request for the correct information. I am very thankful to the hard-working individuals who have turned this agency around and serving people seeking to improve their lives, I'm sure many like me struggling with multiple jobs to make ends meet while also going through education and programs to enrich their future, with a spirit of courtesy and compassion. Whatever reputation this agency had, it deserves a re evaluation.

I sat here on the phone for forever and then opted for a call back when it was prompted. They called me back, it rang only 3 times, and then they hung up. How does that make any sense? I'm constantly disappointed with this place. The second time I had to call back right after that, I waited for a long while once again, and a woman answered and refused to let me speak to someone directly about my LMHCA (she always has transferred me before) and asked me to EMAIL them. That is absolutely ridiculous. I do not have time to wait around for someone to MAYBE get to my email about 2 very simple questions that can easily be answered over the phone and are literally NOWHERE to be found anywhere on the website. This is unacceptable.

I'm a mental health counselor working on my dual license in Indiana for a client of mine. After submitting a lot of paperwork and having to go through various parties, I was told it was being held up because I needed to fill out a single box with a name on a form. It's a simple but very confusing box because it's unclear what name to put. I called and asked the worker, Nollie, for help. She was not only unhelpful but rude, telling me I was being unhelpful for leaving it blank and that she "could not advise me" on how to fill it out.

I would rate this agency zero stars if possible. They are quick to take payment but slow to provide service. My initial experience with them began two years ago when I applied for an associate license. The process was a nightmare; after submitting my documents, they sat for months with no updates. The representatives I spoke with over the phone were never on the same page, and emails were rarely answered. When they were, the responses were vague, providing no timeline and only stating that I would receive an email once the process was complete.

This level of service is unacceptable, especially when individuals rely on these licenses and test approvals for employment and are paying fees. Two years later, there has been no improvement in customer service or processing timelines. The agency should consider staffing adequately or implementing AI to automate processes and improve customer service. This situation is simply unacceptable.

The people who answer the phone for this agency are very rude and unqualified to do the job. They can barely answer simple questions about the system they use everyday. The Mylicenseone app is a disaster!

If zero stars was an option. This is starting to feel personal. I’ve been left on hold 4 times now for over an hour. They won’t let you come to the building. They give vague information and when they don’t know what to do, will put you back on hold. They also lie. I’ve been waiting for an email for over 24 hours now when they stated it would be sent over 5-10 minutes after finally answering the phone after a 1:01:55 hold for them to answer the phone. We’re held to the highest standard, paying money out of pocket, and walking on eggshells. This is a huge disappointed as I start my medical career. This system is majorly flawed.

Like many others, I have a poor experience with this organization. I am currently a new NP, applied for my license in May and have ran into many issues with no communication on their end. I have investigated and done all of the work myself with no guidance just to run into another “pending” for several weeks on end. They don’t respond to any emails and are supposed to send emails updating you but never have received one. When you call the contact number you get a customer service representative that often reads off of the public website but cannot offer any details other than to “continue to wait.” I’ve used emails, the document uploading on the website, and directly mailed information to them with no response. They overlooked my dates on class requirements and stated they “may be incomplete” although they are clearly within the required timeframe and then don’t update you with how you can correct their error. After researching, I finally called my state representative requesting them to look into why this agency is so far behind and hard to contact. They have kept me from being able to start my new job which I now may lose if I continue to have an unprocessed license. I encourage everyone to do the same, as this is a government agency that clearly needs to be ran more efficiently!
