I rented a JVC GY-HC500 from HVS for a weekend shoot for a music video/studio shoot. My sales rep Mike was super friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

It was my first time renting from Hamilton Video & Sound and my experience could not have been any better! Peter and his team were friendly and provided fantastic service. As other reviewers have mentioned, they took the time to understand my budget, what I needed, and made sure that I had the right equipment to make my shoot a success. The staff also gave me a quick overview on equipment settings which was very useful. If you are looking for equipment rentals or A/V services, I highly recommend this place. Amazing service.

As a McMaster student, it's hard to find production cameras for rent at budget prices. Hamilton Video & Sound really allowed my research project videos have high production value at competitive prices. Equipment was wonderful and I appreciate the high level of care and customer support they show!

Outstanding service. The equipment that we rented was top-notch: a battery powered outdoor sound system with microphone, and a video camera, all in perfect condition and professional quality. Even better, though - the staff were so friendly, helpful, and were as invested in the success of our event as we were!

They took the time to run me through every bit of the equipment, to make sure I was fully comfortable with set up, use, and take down, and made sure I was getting the right equipment to meet my needs. This av rental company doesn't provide service to women. They do try to harass us.

My phone conversations with the rentals manager involved being quoted twice the day rate available at Vistek for the same equipment and then offered the standard rate after 15 minutes. On calling back to book the rental because Hamiltonians are at the mercy of this singular av rental company in the area, the manager attempted to begin the negotiation process again, chastising me and being all-around rude.

Woven into these super unpleasant, tiring and time-wasting conversations, the manager tried to mansplain to me about how my camera model works and give me recommendations for equipment, though he was misinformed and could have mislead me had I not already understood my own camera and challenged his advice.

So guess what I did? Went elsewhere. Businesses that operate through misogyny like this one simply lack skills, intelligence and the ability to serve their customers.
