I have used many of the services offered by Grupdesk and the businesses within over the past year, and still continue to do so. The friendly, helpful and supportive group of creative professionals at this location is extremely difficult to find these days. I have also attended many of the after hour events and seminars hosted within the space and can say it is a great setup for small professional events. The parking is convenient and the location is great! The open, bright atmosphere and fresh modern feel is a great addition to downtown Red Deer. I recommend you check them out and the array of services they offer!

I have not dealt with GrupDesk; however, I have MANY times in years past, had the expertise and knowledge (both in-person and over-the-net) of Gio Aguirre. Not only was he professional and knowledgeable, but he also was patient and skilled in customer-service. Whatever business ventures that Gio is part of, in my opinion, you can be assured of the integrity, ethics and quality of that company; they won't be steering you in ANY tangents of "shady" whatsoever. Be careful when doing business here. I rented a mailbox from them and they requested a photocopy of my drivers license or passport. When I asked for more information how how they protect personal information from identity theft, they told me it was the law to provide this for mailbox rentals and refused to give me any more information on their policies. I again asked for information on the law they referenced and how they comply with PIPEDA. They immediately cancelled my contract without warning and refunded my payment. Super shady, I'd recommend avoiding this place.

** Editing to add that I had offered to go to Red Deer and show them my ID instead of them taking a copy as per the privacy commission recommendations.

This is how they replied -
"Since you are in Edmonton and not a local customer, a COPY of your ID is the only way for us to verify your identity.We will proceed to cancel your contract and refund your money to the credit card you’ve used."

** Second edit. I'm not the one editing the email content, that's what you are doing. To that end, I've uploaded screenshots of the actual email conversation to avoid further confusion. I'm just telling the truth of my experience with you, so that others can make informed choices - that's the way Google reviews work.

I asked for more information and you cancelled my contract, without providing what I was asking for. This was after I said that I would show you my ID as per minimum privacy requirements - Red Deer isn't far and I would have had to get my mail from you anyways. You stated that you needed a copy on file in your email and then said you would accept me showing it to you in person on your reply to my Google review - which is it? It's fine to need to have personal ID on file, it's not ok to not share why you need it and how you protect that information. Take this as a way to improve your policies going forward so that others don't have my experience. Take care.
