I love Carmel's class for so many reasons. She's a passionate and skillful instructor. She has a clear curriculum with a range of body, voice and spatial exercises that push us to extremes in order to reach that holy grail - deep connection. She nurtures and challenges. For me, there's been an awakening of something primal - a crazy-ass opening. Plus I get to learn from and with the talented students she attracts.

I have been a commercial actor for quite some time and for the past few years I have done self taping on my own. Wow , first time today and I wonder why I didn't do this sooner with Carmel and Garage Tapes. An amazing experience , got some direction and way more options than I would have done on my own. I have worked with Carmel and David in the years before Garage Tapes and am so glad to be training with them again at their own studio. As an actor who has trained in many different styles around Vancouver, Garage Tapes is an excellent place to push the boundaries of acting into new physical, emotional, and I'll even say spiritual levels. These classes have helped me reconnect with my body post-Covid, and showed me how I can be a better actor and human through this deeply personal work.
