Girlfriend wanted to get a new set of Oakley goggles. She tried on and fell in love with the Pro Miners (comes with two lenses), but was told the only one left was the floor model on the rack. We were a bit bummed that she was buying the ones everyone's tried on, but oh well, few fingerprint smudges never hurt anybody. Got home and she openned the box, excited to see what the other, low-vis lenses would look like, only to find that they were the exact same (but with the plastic seal still on). Oh well, it's a headache, but back to Elevation I go to see if they have the other set of lenses that go with. New person on the till this time, so I explain the situation. The manager comes out and explains it's the last model so there's 2 options: partial refund and keep the goggles (with two identical high-vis lenses), or full refund. I decided, sadly, to do the full refund, but right before she credited it back to me I decided to call my girlfriend first, see what she wanted to do as they were to be hers after all. While on the phone, the cashier turned around and magically found a box with the other lenses in them. Hooray! Problem solved right?! Well, I then asked if it would be alright to keep the high-vis lenses that had the seal still on them instead of the unsealed, floor model duplicates. So she checked with the manager in her office just a few feet away.
Cashier: "Hey can he keep the sealed lense that came in his box instead of the floor model one"
Manager: "Ugh seriously?... Shoot me!" (Yes she said shoot me)
Cashier returns and starts attempting to pull off the old lenses to replace them with new the ones she'd found, not knowing there's buttons on the side to unlock the mechanism. I quickly intervened to show her the buttons before she caused any damage. She replied lightly, "haha I don't know how these oakley goggles work". Great. Just great.
All in all, I have no gripe with the cashier, it was the manager's self-depricating, apathetic attitude that really made me feel unwelcomed and unjustified just for wanting sealed lenses on my "brand new" set of $350 goggles. Really great job y'all. Sorry I was such an inconvenience to you.
