Our business has ordered from Creative many times in the past, and we continue to be very satisfied with both the product and service.

We order custom chocolates embossed with our logo; they are fantastic in both look and taste. Our most recent order was placed during the holiday season, and came remarkably quickly, considering how busy this time can be.

Great service from Lisa who provided quick and clear answers to all of my questions!

I’ve working with Creative regularly. Specifically Kelly Tran. She knows here seasonal items, especially golf and trade show items as well as performance rewards systems. She has access to cool environmentally conscious items as well. Kelly and creative should be your only stop.

A Disheartening and Deceptive Experience at Creative Promotional Marketing Agency

I recently had an incredibly negative experience working at Creative Promotional Marketing Agency, an experience that began with deception and only worsened with time. First and foremost, I want to clarify that the Google business profile for this company is misleading—they do not have a location in Calgary as advertised. They are based out of Edmonton, which was just the beginning of the lies I encountered at Creative Promotional Marketing Agency.

I started on October 23, 2023, and from day one, the mismanagement by Pete, the owner and operator, was evident. My desk wasn’t even ready, and the person assigned to train me was consistently two hours late every day during my three-day training period. Unlike other new hires, I didn’t receive a welcome package, which immediately made me feel unwelcome and undervalued.

Just three days into the job, Pete attempted to fire me, claiming I didn’t know my keyboard shortcuts. This accusation came despite the chaotic and disorganized start to my employment, which left me with little chance to properly learn the role. Instead of terminating my employment, he hastily reassigned me to a different position without any proper transition or support.

Adding to the frustration, I had to purchase my own mouse, keyboard, and mousepad because the provided equipment was either malfunctioning or falling apart. Meanwhile, other new hires received brand new equipment. I was also forced to create promotional content for Pete without any compensation—a clear exploitation of my skills.

The work environment was suffocating in more ways than one. I was placed in the smallest cubicle at the very back of the office, a cramped 3 feet by 3 feet space, despite larger cubicles being available. When I requested a bigger workspace, Pete dismissively told me, “Oh, I’m not ready for that yet,” making me feel even more marginalized.

The so-called workplace culture was non-existent. I felt deeply excluded throughout my time there, and there was a strong possibility of racial discrimination at play. My boyfriend, who referred me to the job, was fired without cause a month before I was similarly dismissed without cause.

Financially, Pete’s unprofessionalism knows no bounds. I was fired on April 1, 2024, and as of August, I still have not been paid the severance or my last paycheck. Pete falsely claimed that I had taken vacation days I hadn’t accrued, despite being told at the time of hire that I would have a week off during Christmas due to a lack of work. He also accused me of stealing work hours because I had to work from home due to mental health reasons, a mental health decline directly caused by the toxic environment Pete fostered.

During a meeting with Pete after my boyfriend’s termination, he talked down to me in a condescending, sexist manner, which I believe was indicative of gender discrimination. A month later, he accused me of stealing work hours—a stereotypical Indigenous insult—because I needed to work from home for my mental health. I even had a doctor’s note dated March 26, 2024 - April 30, 2024, deeming me unfit for work, but I didn’t have to use it because he let me go a few days later.

To make matters worse, Pete has been withholding my final pay and severance, refuses to upload my Record of Employment (ROE), and mishandled my personal information, including my Social Insurance Number (SIN). He also lied to Service Canada about why I was fired, all to cover his own incompetence.

This place has severely impacted my mental health, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Pete’s extreme nepotism, discriminatory behavior, and refusal to pay the compensation owed to me make this workplace one to avoid at all costs.

EDIT: For anyone considering working with or for this company, take my experience as a serious warning. The so-called "proof" he claims to have is as imaginary as his self-proclaimed genius status. Protect your reputation and mental well-being—stay far away from this nightmare of a business.
