After visiting the store, we chose to work with Blown Away Glass Studio to create custom lighting for our newly renovated home.
We appreciated Tim and Katherine's enthusiasm, artistic opinion, experience and knowledge about the design and styles of glass lighting for our space.
The end result of several meetings and conversations about colour that was inspired by a painting in our home, as well as form and function was Tim and Katherine creating stunning works of functional art for our home, including a chandelier, kitchen island pendants and a pendant for our powder room.
Tim and Katherine made the process easy and enjoyable and we appreciate their enthusiasm for this project.
We really enjoyed working with Blown Away and highly recommend supporting these artisans and small business owners.

Lovely shop with a nice selection of handmade glass jewelry, decor and housewares. Some beautiful works in the store - something for everyone at a range of price points. We met one of the the owners and he was super welcoming, friendly and very patient answering questions for us about commissioning some work for lighting for our home. We were able to peek into the workshop, even though a class was being held at the time.

Unfortunately, my experience with this glassblowing class was incredibly disappointing and left me feeling disheartened about something I had looked forward to for years. It took me six months just to book a spot, with multiple attempts and last-minute cancellations along the way. Communication was poor throughout—emails went unanswered, and the whole process felt disorganized and unprofessional from the very beginning.

What was most upsetting, though, was the atmosphere during the class itself. The owner showed visible frustration, ignored questions, and she even grabbed materials out of our hands while we were trying to create. Rather than being encouraging or patient, the whole experience felt rushed and dismissive—like we were an inconvenience instead of paying guests.

Even during certain parts, she gave little guidance. While I was heating the glass, she seemed completely tuned out. I asked twice, “Should I remove it yet?”—no response. By the time she finally acknowledged me, half the glass had melted off, and I was left with a mini version of what I had hoped to make.

This was something I had dreamed of doing for years, and I walked away feeling let down.

What’s more concerning is that many of the negative reviews say the exact same things I experienced. A business that truly cared would take that kind of consistent feedback as a sign to improve—but it seems nothing is changing.

If you’re looking for a creative, welcoming, and well-run glassblowing experience, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. This person lost her passion years ago.

The craftsmanship is incredible it's a true work of Art Beside the incredible emotional reaction that I have to it is one thing but the workmanship is that went in to making it im beyond impressed,

June 20, 2pm. So excited to check this place out. Went out of our way to visit, watched all the TV shows and maybe sign up for a class. In for 5 minutes before the lady came in and asked us where we were from. My wife asked a question about the glass and was given a "Yeah" response. I took a picture from the door into the studio. Just to say we were there. After, she said "You should have asked before taking photos." What? We in a CIA hideout? Last job in the world for this lady should be customer service. Was a total downer. Never EVER going back.

A beautiful studio with amazing examples of the possible with blown glass. Took the one day Friendship Ball course and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will be back for more courses. Tim and Katherine are amazing. Instructions were fantastic, easy to follow an made for a great experience. Will definitely be back for more classes and art for the house.

After doing a weekend workshop I can safely say it's fantastic! Tim and Katherine do an amazing job of teaching and helping, with just enough supervision that your piece will come out as intended but it still feels like your piece. The work they have for sale is beautiful and their prices are fair. Definitely check them out!
