Sign was slightly unclear about parking. And owner chased me into another establishment and was very rude. First time driving in Nelson and it was a bad experience. Having him be super rude while I was trying to have a nice quick lunch with the mother I haven't seen in a while. Took me half hour to park that I didnt have with my mother...

I am an online customer for hobby art supplies at Cowan's, and the customer service is phenomenal!!! I am extremely impressed! The products I ordered came almost overnight (and free shipping!), and were in excellent condition. Also, the prices are competitive with other online stores! They respond to emails within minutes. I would 100% recommend them to anyone! A great place to shop!

At 4:55pm our fax machine ran out of toner. After checking the back we realized that our backup hadn't been restocked. Called over to Cowan's, and not only did they stay open past closing to help out but they knew exactly what model toner cartridge we needed. In and out extremely quickly and absolutely stellar service. Yet another reason to support local business! You'd never get that sort of personal touch ordering online. Highly recommend!

I rarely give my feedback on the internet, but I have been so upset by the store manager/owner, that I had to share it. My wife had to get important documents printed. It took her 20 minutes to get her documents printed by the staff and while I was waiting in my van in the parking lot, the owner got out ask me if we were customers, insinuating we had been there for quite a while and were taking one of his precious parking place for other purposes than shopping at his business. I had to argue with him and needed to show him my wife's receipt ticket to prove him that we were indeed one of their customers. Imagine, the parking was not even half-full. Pretty annoying!

I usually never leave reviews but the customer service at this place is just brutal! My wife recently visited the store to purchase some items and printer ink. She texted me asking which cartridges we needed, and while she was waiting me to respond, she asked the lady at the front desk if she could hold her items behind the desk while she walked down the street to another shop to grab something. she let her know she would be leaving her car there. When she arrived back the owner/manager had put a boot on her car for being parked in the parking lot. (A paying customer) He then in a very rude and condescending manner demanded she paid $50 cash to remove the boot. My poor wife standing there, pregnant, crying, being yelled at so incredibly rudely while the rest of the store looked in disbeleif. It's absolutely mind boggling and unacceptable to treat a customer or another human being with such disrespect. All the cashier could say was sorry. I don't know in what world this is good business. I could think of a hundred other ways handle this situation. Never ever will ever step foot in this store again. I usually do everything I can to shop local, but not here!

On another note. A few years back I was working on the electrical grid for Nelson Hydro right in front of cowans in an underground junction box. We had to have the power off and started our shift at 5am. I had my pickup parked in the empty parking lot and when the owner showed up for his shift he yelled at me for parking there! It was honestly one the rudest interaction l've ever experience with a business. I remember being just fuming mad the rest of the day and vowed to never shop there again then. I was on site for the next 6 hours and not once was the parking lot full. I'm not sure what this guy has going on in his personal life but it can’t be good, and isn’t getting any better.
