I had the pleasure of seeing Rich and Cathy at work at a wedding this last weekend. They held two photo sessions ; the first one with just the bride and the groom and the second with the permutations and combinations of family members.

I was immediately impressed on their skill and talent at the first photo session as they had previously scouted the location for sites to avoid random people, but which had attractive light. As they photographed the bride and groom they provided frequent positive posing advice, but perhaps more importantly the showed the photos they were getting and they were visibly excited about their shots. This enthusiasm was contagious as the bride and groom were clearly having fun and enjoying the experience. This was remarkable in itself as the bride dislikes being the center of attention, and yet she was clearly enjoying the photo shoot. I would say that Rich and Cathy would be an excellent selection for your wedding in general, but perhaps more particularly if the bride or groom tend to be introverted or shy. From my experience as an onlooker, their easy going and friendly attitude put the bride and groom at ease - and that is always when you'll get the best photos.

After that primary photo shoot they switched location for the combination / permutation of family members. The bride being the bride, she had previously produced a spreadsheet of all of the combinations and so this phase of the photo shoot was run like a well oiled machine. Due to the preparations before hand, the family shoot went fast and thankfully was all done within the shade. While it went fast, it was not rushed at all. Rich and Cathy were able to once again put everyone at ease.

The final service they provided for the wedding were the informal shots of people enjoying themselves at the reception, dinner and speeches. They were non intrusive and captured a number of remarkable shots - they showed me a sample of a few of their shots.

They work well as a team, but that is no surprise as they are 19 year veterans of the wedding photography scene. They quickly collaborated upon light (natural, flash or a combination of both) and then individually got they shots that they were both after. I think this is part of the reason why I believe the end results will be so good ; while they do work well as a team, they are individually remarkable photographers - both technically and with composition. Rich seemed to favor the long lens and worked to get those compressed shots with attractive bokeh whereas Cathy typically worked closer to the subjects to get portraits with a shorter lens.

I am really excited to see the end results of this wedding. Based on the small set of samples they showed me, I think the bride and groom will be ecstatic.

Throughout the photo shoots, bystanders like myself were able to scamper about to take snapshots / behind the scenes photographs which I think will give additional context to the day. Rich and Cathy were both totally fine with others taking pictures, which I think is yet another strength of their professionalism.

I think any bride and groom would be delighted with Rich and Cathy, and given their easy going nature, I think they would even be more valuable to a shy couple.

If you are looking to have an absolute blast with two amazing, professional photographers well these two are a must! Rich and Cathy did our wedding photos and it was one of the best highlights from the wedding. They were fun, energetic, personable and detail orientated. They gave us some sneak peaks of the pictures they took throughout the day and it took my breath away the way they made our pictures look so magical.
Thank you Rich and Cathy for not only taking the most stunning photos but making it such a fun experience. You two are such wonderful people and I cannot wait to decorate our house with the beautiful photos you took.
